Ambassador Armbruster visited the Majuro Co-op School on October 23 and met with the 11th grade Current Events class. As the two U.S. Presidential candidates prepared for their final debate on foreign policy, Ambassador Armbruster discussed the impact of Presidential visits overseas. The Ambassador recounted visits by President Bush to Finland in 1989, President Clinton to Moscow in 1999 and President Bush to Mexico in 2002. He then asked the Co-op students to design a program for a visit by President Obama or President Romney to the Marshall Islands. The students came up with a program involving major themes of U.S.-Marshall Islands engagement including trade, political issues, tourism and the environment. If the next President comes here, the Co-op students are ready to welcome him and show him the best of the Marshall Islands!
