Dept of Interior: Frederick Nysta

Frederick Nysta was sworn in on April 20, 2015 as the Department of the Interior’s Grants Management Specialist in Majuro, Republic of the Marshall Islands.

Prior to this, Frederick served as the Military Liaison Officer for the U.S. Embassy, Majuro.

As a Grants Management Specialist, Frederick performs program reviews and policy analyses for all sector grant programs for which Office of Insular Affairs is responsible.  He represents the DOI Honolulu Field Office, which is primarily responsible for the implementation of U.S. financial assistance provided under the Compact of Free Association with the Republic of the Marshall Islands.

Nysta was born and raised here in the Marshall Islands. He retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service.  He and his wife, Hemina, have four grown children.
