Daniel Dolan currently serves as Political, Economic, and Consular officer for Embassy Majuro in the Republic of the Marshall Islands. Dan’s portfolio also covers Embassy Majuro’s currently vacant Military Liaison Officer position. Prior to his arrival in the Marshall Islands, Dan was a Consular and Political officer in Ankara, Turkey where his portfolio focused on Turkey-Russia and Turkey-EU relations. Dan did his first tour in Vientiane, Laos where he served as Vice-Consul.
Prior to joining the Foreign Service, Dan led the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) attraction efforts and also taught English as a Second Language (ESL) both in the U.S. and Southeast Asia for over ten years.
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dan received his Master’s Degree in International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh and his Master’s Degree in Education from Alvernia University in Reading, Pennsylvania. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in International Affairs also from the University of Pittsburgh. He speaks Thai, Lao, and Turkish.
Dan is married with two daughters and has an Irish Setter named Rooney. During his free time, he enjoys exercising, reading, music, and sports — he bleeds black and gold.
