Enhancing Coastal Management in the Marshall Islands

Embassy Science Fellow, Michael Donovan, is collaborating with the Republic of the Marshall Islands Environmental Protection Authority (RMIEPA) where he is expanding capacity in surveying and mapping. Donovan is applying geospatial technologies to bolster RMIEPA’s environmental monitoring. His work aims to assist the Authority in its mission to ensure environmental sustainability and regulated coastal development. He is also supporting efforts in local universities to reestablish training in Geographic Information Systems (G.I.S.).
