On March 1, Remembrance Day, the U.S. Embassy provided to the people and Government of the RMI a Moringa Oleifera tree, also known as Malunggay, Miracle Tree or Tree of Life. All parts of the tree are beneficial for health, including anti-cancer and beneficial nutritional properties. The tree is a symbol of our support for the RMI people who suffered due to the Cold War nuclear testing legacy in which 67 nuclear devices were tested in the Marshalls. The tree was planted at the Nitijela or parliament building and is expected to grow to be nine feet tall. We hope it grows tall and strong!
