RMI Participates in Future Leaders of the Pacific Conference

Isabela Silk, a Foreign Service Officer for the Republic of the Marshall Islands, represented her country at the Future Leaders of the Pacific Conference held in Pago Pago, American Samoa February 4-7, 2013. The conference was announced by Secretary Clinton in 2012 during her visit to the Pacific Islands Forum in the Cook Islands and brought together young leaders from throughout the Pacific to discuss a wide range of issues including women’s empowerment, democracy & governance, climate change, sea bed mining, and non-communicable disease. “The conference was an excellent opportunity to network with colleagues from around the Pacific and discuss our shared challenges and opportunities. I look forward to continuing these discussions in coming months and years,” said Ms. Silk.
